Trivia[]
- Early in his career, he lent his voice to an animated television series version of the science fiction manga Kiteretsu Daihyakka.
- Because of his long hair, he’s been mistaken twice as a girl. Once by his Grandmother and another by a combini Attendant.
- Kamiyan is a cat lover while his DGS radio show partner OnoD dislikes cats.
- Has a male cat named Nyanko-sensei (also known as DGS cat).
- Coincidentally in the anime Natsume Yuujinchou where he plays the protagonist Takashi Natsume, Natsume's youkai cat is also named “Nyanko-sensei”.
- He’s not popular with girl seiyuus and he says he wishes to be.
- Member of a gang named DG5, consisting of Ono Daisuke, Sugita Tomokazu, Nakamura Yuichi, Yasumoto Hiroki, and himself. They often go to arcade and play like idiots there.
- When he was little, he dreamt of becoming a bus-driver.
- He joined the karate club since elementary school and received his black belt in high school. After that, he quit the karate club and was then persuaded to join the drama club by a friend, which led him to become the awards-winning star of the club.
- In 2006, he was hospitalized for 2 months after being involved in a traffic accident, which happened before the recording of the final episode of Honey & Clover II. He was then replaced with Nojima Kenji for the voice of Yuta Takemoto.
- He is also a member of the unit KamiYu with Irino Miyu and becomes one of the regular hosts of the annual concert Kiramune Music Festival.
- Daisuke Ono often commented that he has a very adorable tsundere side. He is actually kind, but he rather shows his sadistic personality than kindness. Whenever he feels disturbed about something or is forced to do something embarrassing, he will usually sulk.
- Also a big bully. Ono once complained that whenever they’re working together for an anime, Kamiya would often hit OnoD's arm whenever he screwed up his own lines. When they are on the radio show DGS, it is OnoD who is always forced to do embarrassing things, but for some reason, he doesn’t really feel troubled about it.
- He is also in the same band as OnoD, called "masochistic ono band" with OnoD as the lead singer.
