Takao Kanon (高尾 奏音, born September 10, 2002) is a Japanese seiyuu and singer from Tokyo. She was a member of the seiyuu idol unit Earth Star Dream (アース・スター ドリーム; went on hiatus in 2017 and disbanded when managing agency ceased related activity) and subunit duo Hikanon (ひかのん). She is mostly known for her main roles as Chisa Shiraishi in Idoly Pride (2021), Hina Tsurugi in Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (2020), Latina in If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord (2020), and Aku in Demon Lord, Retry! In 2014, Takao participated in a voice acting audition held by the publishing company Earth Star Entertainment. She was declared one of the audition's two winners, along with Nakashima Yuki (who went on to be the bassist of the well-known seiyuu idol band Roselia). Takao, Nakashima, and other participants in the audition then formed the idol group Earth Star Dream. In 2017, she also formed the singing duo Hikanon together with labelmate Koide Hikaru; the duo performed the song "Smile Invitation" which was used as the theme song to The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor. After Earth Star Dream went on hiatus at the end of 2017, Takao initially remained with Earth Star Entertainment, but left the company in April 2018 after they ceased their talent management activities. She then joined the talent agency Link Plan in September of 2018.
Her brother is Takao Sonosuke ([ja]), who works as a composer and pianist for anison among other works.
On October 2, 2022, her agency Link Plan reported she had tested positive for COVID-19. On October 10, 2022, her agency and her official Twitter reported she had recovered and would be resuming work activities.
